I am so terribly over-impressed with myself. I've been confused about RSS feeds and newsreaders and exactly what they do and how they work and apparently my whining was noticed. A friend of mine gave me a careful, detailed explanation of how they work, saying, "The RSS feed itself is, for all practical purposes, magic." After that helpful description he did give me advice and I managed to set up all of my fellow classmates' blogs onto (into?) a newsreader. Which has something to do with the magic of RSS feeds. Which I still don't understand. (added note: David explains them brilliantly in his post here).
Anyhow, the idea is that I will be able to see who has updated their blog! So helpful since we are required to post on someone else's blog for our class. Plus, my classmates are brilliant and interesting and they write so well. But darnit, I can hold my own with them, at least when it comes to drinking coffee and reading fan fiction.
As for the taxonomy chart and this whole business of discussing how you were discussing something, well... I think I still have a way to go before I figure out how to do it.
Ta!

I'm glad to see you're so into RSS now :-) I can't argue with your choice of reader either, since Google Reader is absolutely amazing!
If you are still interested, I made a little write up about RSS on my blog. But then, you already knew that from seeing it on Google Reader.
Well, Bek, I just want you to know you have inspired me to figure out rss feeds myself. Magic makes sense to me... So your Wibble blog is now added to my homepage. I'm so proud of myself. (-: This from the woman who has used a cell phone less than a dozen times in her life, too. See, you're teaching already by example.
ps - in CPE this summer, we're doing a lot of discussing how we're discussing things, but I looked at your taxonomy handout, and all I can say is better you than me!
Oh, and how about oh-the-places-you'll-go in Boston (speaking of unusual links)?
Rebekah, I was really intrigued after watching the little explanation about Google Reader. It's such a novel idea, and I thought it was interesting how he made the parallel to saying that just as you can be notified when a message comes to your email, so too can you be notified when a change occurs on a website of interest.
I think Jeff uses something like that to monitor everyone's blogs!
This is Peter by the way--my posting identity is actually my name in Greek in case you were confused :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEKAH!
Hope it's been a good one.
lots of love.
